The news is Sarabeth's Kitchen will be taking over the Bazzini space sometime this winter. It will be another great brunch spot. Expect something big from them at Taste of Tribeca, May 15, 2010.

Artisanal Cheese at Bazzini's

It is always a delight when we find something we crave a little closer to home:

I did a double-take in front of the cheese fridge at Bazzini's. They're now carrying a beautiful selection from Artisanal Cheese Company. They're more than just purveyors of cheese, they're more like curators. When Artisanal puts their stamp on cheese, you know it's going be good. They had one of my personal favorites: Dutch Roomano--this hard, orange cheese is old enough for kindergarten and will make a believer out of you. Butterscotch is the word that will come to mind. Buy a hunk and try to resist nibbling. In the past, I had to make a special trip up to the Artisanal restaurant in the Flatiron district, but now Tribeca has its own supply.

Bazzini's Power Lunch

Today the Taste of Tribeca co-chairs had a late breakfast at the revamped Bazzini's on Greenwich Street. it's becoming more of a lunch spot, with an expanded deli sandwich counter. it is now open at night as a sandwich shoppe and ice cream parlor. It feels like a decades old cafeteria, come try it!!

The Tribeca Whole Foods opened this summer. Convenience, name brand, wide selection...however, let's plug our local Bazzini's. Bazzini's is a founder of the Taste of Tribeca fundraiser and has been a community presence for many years.
With a wide selection of gourmet products, a great, welcoming cafe offering terrific breakfast and lunch specials Bazzini's is the perfect meeting palce for the Taste of Tribeca volunteers.
